Male AKR/J and 129×1/SvJ mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME, USA). Initial breeding pairs of C57BL/6J, DBA/2J, A/J and chromosome substitution strain- C57BL/6J-Chr 1A/J/NaJ (CSS1), were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (JAX®, Bar Harbor, ME, USA). Progenies from institutional breeding program were used in the study.
Ages Experiments were conducted when the mice aged to 5–7 months old.
